Former First Lady Barbara Bush has been gracious with her support for our campaign, writing three different introductions to various books we have published and honoring us at a reception in the White House for our work promoting literacy.

Wee Pals creator, Morrie Turner , MAD Magazine and GROO creator Sergio Aragones, Snoopy's creator, the late great Charles Schulz and Winged Tiger's Phil Yeh at the Second Annual Sparky Awards in San Francisco.

Steve Allen introduced Phil Yeh at the first California Laureates Alphie Awards at Sony Studios in 1999. Phil was honored along with Dr. Fred Kort and Edward James Olmos for their work promoting literacy.


Phil Yeh and French artist Moebius, who drew an introduction for Phil's book without words The Winged Tiger.

The art of Moebius is also featured in The Winged Tiger Comics & Stories Issue #3.


Rick O'Shay creator Stan Lynde helps Cartoonists Across America & the World paint a mural.


Wally "Famous" Amos, National Spokesperson for Literacy Volunteers of America, flew out from Hawaii to present Phil Yeh with the award from the Los Angeles County Library Foundation.

It was an interview that Phil had with Wally in 1985 that inspired the Cartoonists Across America & The World tour. Wally has been a strong supporter ever since.

Phil Yeh and the legendary editor of MAD magazine Al Feldstein, who signed the guitar at the 2008 San Diego Comic Con. Al is "retired" now and creating wonderful wildlife paintings in the west.


Actress Heather Locklear is seen here enjoying a special issue of Patrick Rabbit, which concentrates on why it's important to stay in school.


Phil Yeh is looking forward to collaborating on a Spanish + English book with artist José Quintero , from the Taller Del Perro publishing house. José is best-known in Mexico for his "Buba" series of comics and his very unique style of drawing.


Phil Ortiz plays the hoop game at the Temple of Heaven in Beijing. One of the original Simpsons artists Phil Ortiz (creator of PACHUCO BOY) joined us for a wonderful trip to China in Spring 2007. The two Phils were guests at the Third Annual China Cartoon and Animation Festival held in Phil Yeh's family hometown of Hangzhou. More than 420,000 fans attended the convention and were delighted to meet both Phils who designed a special poster for the event together with Mulan artist Alex Nino.


Gaby Maya is helping us with the Spanish translation of The Legend of the Winged Tiger book. Her character, Gaby Cat, has appeared in The Winged Tiger Comics & Stories .



Legendary group Was Not Was wears our reading dinosaur t-shirt. Their song Walk the Dinosaur is used in our video documentary Planet Literacy, for the scene where we paint the bus in Nashville in 1988.


Legendary author Ray Bradbury has supported our literacy campaign since the beginning, when Phil met him at the first Comic Convention in San Diego.
